Pachypodium lamerei, commonly known as the Madagascar Palm, is a dramatic and architectural succulent that instantly adds a tropical flair to any plant collection. Despite its name, it isn’t a true palm but a unique succulent native to Madagascar, distinguished by its thick, spiny trunk topped with a lush crown of long, elegant leaves. In warm, favorable conditions, it may even reward growers with striking, fragrant white blooms. Durable and visually captivating, this plant is an excellent choice for collectors or anyone seeking a bold centerpiece.
Care Tips
Light:
Thrives in bright, full sunlight. While it can handle partial shade, maximum growth and form are achieved with abundant light.
Watering:
Water deeply during the active growing season (spring–summer), allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. In winter, when the plant enters dormancy, reduce watering significantly.
Soil:
Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix. Incorporating sand or perlite enhances drainage and prevents root rot.
Temperature:
Prefers warm environments and should be protected from frost or extended exposure to cold temperatures.
Propagation:
Most commonly propagated from seed. Exercise caution when handling, as the trunk and branches are armed with sharp spines.

Absolutely thrilled with my Pachypodium Lamerei purchase. It arrived well packaged and with fast delivery. It is exactly as described and transplanted well, although it did drop quite a few leaves. It appears to have adjusted well.\n\nThank you Succulents Online for your awesome service.
