Pachypodium lamerei, commonly known as the Madagascar Palm, is a striking succulent plant native to Madagascar. Despite its common name, it is not a true palm but a succulent with a thick, spiny trunk and long, narrow leaves clustered at the top. This plant makes a bold statement indoors or in warm outdoor gardens with its sculptural form and unique appearance.
Key Features:
- Thick, swollen, spiny trunk that stores water
- Long, slender green leaves arranged in a crown at the top
- Slow-growing and drought-tolerant
- Can reach impressive heights indoors with proper care
- Distinctive architectural look adds an exotic touch to any space
Care Tips:
- Light: Prefers bright, direct sunlight; thrives best with several hours of sun daily.
- Watering: Water thoroughly during the growing season (spring and summer), allowing soil to dry out completely between waterings; reduce watering significantly in winter.
- Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix to avoid water retention.
- Temperature: Prefers warm temperatures between 20-30°C (68-86°F); protect from frost and cold drafts.
- Fertilizer: Feed monthly during the growing season with a balanced, diluted fertilizer formulated for succulents.
- Repotting: Repot every 2-3 years or when root-bound, ideally in spring.

Absolutely thrilled with my Pachypodium Lamerei purchase. It arrived well packaged and with fast delivery. It is exactly as described and transplanted well, although it did drop quite a few leaves. It appears to have adjusted well.\n\nThank you Succulents Online for your awesome service.
