Pachyphytum Oviferum ‘Moonstones’ also referred to as the Sugar Almond Plant or Moonstones, is a stunning chubby succulent with round clad foliage to boot in the form of smooth pebbles. Another interesting plant that I adore for its delicate velvet touch that ranges from blue gray to pinkish lavender is its thick leaved foliage. This plant displays different shades of red from brighter light and cooler temperatures, so it’s quite dynamic in terms of visual appearance in the succulent garden.
Originally from Mexico, Pachyphytum Oviferum ‘Moonstones’ have rosette growth form and may reach heights of up to 10-15 cm (4-6 inches) while having approximately the same diameter. Although this plant is tiny and uses a shallow root system, it is ideal for pots, containers, indoors, or perhaps a small rock garden. It has tiny feathery foliage, small flowers are borne in terminal racemes bearing yellow bell like flowers during its growing period.
Taking care of this striking plant, Pachyphytum Oviferum is not very complicated at all – this species requires a well-draining medium and the moisture it needs simply does not allow the soil to dry up entirely.
