Origin: Southern Africa, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique
Main Characteristics
- Growth Habit: A tree-like succulent that can reach heights of up to 10 meters in its natural habitat. In pots, it typically remains much smaller.
- Structure: Thick, upright green branches with four distinct ridges, forming a candelabra shape.
- Leaves: Tiny and short-lived; they fall off early in the plant’s development.
- Sap: Produces a white, milky latex when cut, which is toxic and can irritate the skin and eyes.
- Flowers: Small yellow-green flowers appear along the upper ridges of mature branches.
