Edithcolea grandis, also known as the Persian Carpet Flower, is a captivating succulent native to the arid regions of East Africa and the Arabian Peninsula. Renowned for its unique appearance and intricate floral display, this plant is a true treasure for collectors and succulent enthusiasts.

Key Characteristics:

• Sprawling Stems: Edithicolea grandis features thick, fleshy, four-angled stems that sprawl along the ground, creating a carpet-like effect. These stems are covered in small, pointed tubercles and often have a reddish or purplish hue, adding to the plant's visual appeal.

• Extraordinary Flowers: The most striking feature is the remarkable, star-shaped flowers that bloom from late spring to early summer. These flowers have five fleshy petals that are intricately patterned with a complex network of maroon, yellow, and purple markings, resembling an ornate Persian carpet.

• Drought Tolerance: This succulent is highly adapted to arid conditions and can survive long periods without water. It stores water in its stems, allowing it to endure the harsh desert climate.
