Echinopsis Golden Globe

Echinopsis Golden Globe is a compact cactus admired for its rounded shape, attractive ribbed body, and impressive seasonal flowers. Its neat form makes it an excellent choice for sunny windowsills, patios, balconies, or as part of a cactus and succulent collection.

This easy-care cactus develops a symmetrical globe-shaped stem with pronounced ribs lined with short golden spines that give it its distinctive appearance. As the plant matures, it may produce large, showy flowers that create a striking contrast against the green body. Its compact size and low-maintenance nature make it well suited to both beginner growers and experienced cactus enthusiasts.

Care

Light

Place in a bright position with plenty of sunlight. Gradually introduce the plant to stronger direct sun to help prevent sunburn.

Water

Allow the potting mix to dry completely between waterings. Water more frequently during the warmer growing months and reduce watering during winter.

Soil

Grow in a premium free-draining cactus and succulent potting mix to help prevent excess moisture around the roots.

Temperature

Prefers warm conditions and should be protected from prolonged frost and heavy rainfall.

Fertiliser

Feed with a diluted cactus fertiliser during spring and summer to encourage healthy growth and flowering.

Good to know

Under suitable growing conditions, mature plants may produce spectacular funnel-shaped flowers, often during the warmer months. Good drainage and plenty of sunlight are key to maintaining a healthy, compact plant.
