Echeveria ‘Aquilla’ is a refined rosette-forming succulent prized for its sculptural, paddle-shaped leaves that emerge in a delicate powdery blue-green. Native hybrid vigor gives it excellent color retention and a compact habit, making it a standout in mixed containers, rock gardens, or as a solitary centerpiece.
Main Features
-
Symmetrical Rosette: Forms tight rosettes 8–12 cm across with smooth, spoon-shaped leaves
-
Distinctive Color: Powdery blue-green foliage that may blush pink at the edges under bright light
-
Compact Habit: Maintains a neat profile, ideal for small pots and crowded succulent displays
-
Slow-to-Moderate Growth: Grows steadily without sprawling, keeping its elegant shape over time
-
Offsetting: Produces small pups at the base for easy propagation and fuller clumps
Care Tips
-
Light: Provide at least 4–6 hours of bright, indirect light or morning sun. Too much intense afternoon sun can scorch the leaf surface.
-
Watering: Allow the growing medium to dry completely between waterings. Water deeply when dry, then let excess drain away. Reduce watering in winter.
-
Soil: Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix. You can amend standard potting soil with coarse sand or perlite for extra drainage.
-
Temperature: Thrives between 15–25 °C. Protect from frost—temperatures below 5 °C can damage leaves.
-
Fertilisation: Feed lightly with a balanced, diluted succulent fertiliser once during spring’s active growth. Avoid fertilising in winter.
-
Propagation: Separate offsets or take leaf cuttings in spring or summer. Allow cut ends to callous 24 hours before placing on dry soil.
The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 130mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
