Cordyline 'Red Sister' is a vibrant tropical plant known for its dramatic, sword-shaped leaves in shades of deep burgundy, hot pink, and magenta. This eye-catching variety adds bold color and texture to both garden landscapes and indoor spaces. It grows in upright clumps and brings a lush, exotic feel wherever it's placed.

Key Characteristics:

  • Botanical Name: Cordyline fruticosa 'Red Sister'
  • Height & Spread: Typically reaches 1.2 to 1.8 meters tall and wide
  • Foliage: Glossy, colorful leaves with a striking red-pink hue
  • Growth Habit: Upright, clump-forming
  • Ideal Use: Feature plant in tropical gardens, containers, or as an indoor accent

Care Tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight or partial shade. Can tolerate full sun in humid climates, but harsh afternoon sun may cause leaf burn.
  • Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top layer of soil to dry slightly between waterings.
  • Humidity: Thrives in high humidity. Mist the leaves regularly or place near a humidifier if grown indoors.
  • Soil: Well-draining, fertile soil with good organic matter. Slightly acidic to neutral pH is ideal.
  • Fertilizer: Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer during the growing season (spring to autumn) every 4–6 weeks.
  • Temperature: Best grown in temperatures between 18°C and 29°C. Protect from cold drafts and frost.
  • Maintenance: Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves to maintain appearance. Prune to shape as needed.
  • Propagation: Can be easily propagated through stem cuttings placed in water or moist soil.
