Cordyline fruticosa ‘Red Sister’ is a striking ornamental plant admired for its bold, colourful foliage. The long, lance-shaped leaves feature brilliant shades of deep pink, burgundy, and bronze, making it a standout in tropical gardens or container displays. This variety brings a lush, exotic look and performs well in both garden beds and pots.

Key Characteristics:

  • Botanical name: Cordyline fruticosa ‘Red Sister’

  • Common name: Red Sister Ti Plant

  • Foliage: Glossy, sword-like leaves in shades of deep pink, magenta, and dark red

  • Height: Typically grows 1–2 metres tall

  • Growth habit: Upright and clumping with multiple canes

  • Origin: Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands

Care Tips:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect light or partial shade. Outdoors, it thrives in filtered sun. Too much direct sun can scorch the leaves.

  • Watering: Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Allow the top few centimetres to dry out between waterings.

  • Soil: Use rich, well-draining soil with organic matter.

  • Temperature: Enjoys warm, humid conditions. Protect from frost and cold winds. Ideal temperatures: 18–28°C.

  • Humidity: Prefers higher humidity. Mist regularly or group with other plants indoors to increase moisture.

  • Feeding: Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser every 4–6 weeks during the growing season for best colour.

  • Pruning: Trim older or damaged leaves to keep the plant tidy and promote new growth.

The succulent plant housed in the black pot comes in a 150mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
