Botanical Name: Mammillaria carmenae
Common Name: Pincushion Cactus
Family: Cactaceae
Origin: Mexico
Description:
The Mammillaria carmenae, also known as the Pincushion Cactus, is a charming and compact cactus species beloved for its dense covering of soft, golden to white spines that resemble fluffy pincushions. It forms small clumps of globular stems that stay relatively low-growing, making it a perfect addition to your windowsill, succulent shelf, or rock garden.
In spring, it delights with rings of dainty creamy white to pale pink flowers, often blooming in a crown-like arrangement around the top of the cactus—an enchanting display for such a small plant.
Care Tips:
-
Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight. It can tolerate some direct sun.
-
Water: Water thoroughly when the soil is dry, allowing it to dry out completely between waterings. Reduce watering during winter dormancy.
-
Soil: Use a well-draining cactus or succulent mix
The succulent plant housed in the black pot comes in a 130 mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same. Plants will be shipped as bare root.
