Sedum ‘Limelight’, commonly known as “Green Mound,” is a low-growing, mat-forming succulent prized for its bright lime-green foliage and dense, rounded growth habit. It forms tight clusters of small, fleshy leaves that create a soft, cushion-like appearance. This variety adds a vibrant splash of green to rock gardens, borders, containers, and groundcovers, and works beautifully in mixed succulent arrangements.
Main Characteristics:
- Compact, mound-forming growth
- Bright lime to yellow-green foliage
- Grows up to 10–15 cm high and spreads wider over time
- Produces tiny, star-shaped white or pale-yellow flowers in late spring to summer
- Excellent as a filler or border plant, especially in sunny, well-drained areas
Care Instructions:
- Light: Thrives in full sun to partial shade; full sun helps maintain its compact form and vivid color
- Water: Drought-tolerant once established; water moderately during the growing season, and reduce in cooler months
- Soil: Prefers sandy or gritty, well-draining soil; ideal for rockeries and raised beds
- Temperature: Hardy in mild climates; protect from heavy frost or provide shelter in cold regions
- Maintenance: Very low-maintenance; trim back after flowering to maintain shape if needed
- Propagation: Easily propagated by stem or leaf cuttings, or by division of clumps
