Pleiospilos nelii, commonly known as Split Rock, is a rare and fascinating succulent native to South Africa. Its thick, rounded leaves are split down the centre, giving the appearance of a small, smooth rock — a clever adaptation for survival in its natural habitat. This compact species is beloved by collectors for its unique shape, low maintenance, and stunning flowers.
In spring or autumn, Pleiospilos nelii produces large, daisy-like orange or yellow blooms that emerge from the central fissure, creating a striking contrast against its stone-like foliage.
