Plants are shipped bare root unless otherwise specified. Orders placed before Friday 6 AM (AEST) are shipped the following Monday, or Tuesday if Monday is a public holiday.
Fittonia Jungle Flame
Fittonia Jungle Flame is a colourful tropical foliage plant known for its richly veined leaves and compact growth habit. This eye-catching indoor plant works well on desks, shelves, terrariums, or bright bathroom spaces with added humidity.
Its foliage features deep green tones highlighted with warm red to pink veining, creating strong contrast and texture. This plant has been grown in a 100mm nursery pot, so that size is a good guide if you’re picking a pot for home. We usually ship bare root for freshness and to keep costs low, but we’re happy to pot your plant on request!
Care
Light
Prefers bright indirect light indoors. Avoid strong afternoon sun, especially during warmer Australian months, as the leaves can scorch.
Water
Keep the soil lightly moist but not waterlogged. Fittonias tend to appreciate more regular watering than succulents, particularly in dry indoor conditions.
Humidity
Higher humidity helps maintain healthy foliage. Bathrooms, kitchens, or grouped indoor plants can help improve humidity naturally.
Temperature
Best kept in mild indoor temperatures and protected from cold drafts or frost.
Good to know
Fittonias are sometimes called nerve plants due to their detailed leaf veining. They may droop slightly when thirsty but usually recover quickly after watering.
