False Cardamom

False Cardamom, botanically known as Alpinia nutans, is a tropical foliage plant valued for its lush, upright growth and aromatic leaves. It works well as a patio feature plant or in bright indoor areas where it has space to develop.

This plant produces long, narrow green leaves on upright stems, forming a clumping habit over time. When brushed or crushed, the foliage releases a light, spicy fragrance reminiscent of cardamom. While it is related to true cardamom, it is grown mainly for its ornamental appeal rather than culinary use. Its bold structure makes it a practical choice for adding height and a tropical feel to plant groupings.
