Crassula ovata ‘Minima’ is a compact, dwarf variety of the classic Jade Plant. With its thick, glossy, rounded leaves and branching tree-like form, ‘Minima’ brings all the charm of its larger relative in a smaller, more manageable size. The succulent leaves are typically green with red or bronze edges when exposed to bright light, and clusters of small, star-shaped pinkish-white flowers may appear in late winter or early spring.
Features:
- Dwarf variety of the popular Jade Plant
- Glossy green leaves with red-tinged edges
- Forms a dense, shrub-like structure
- Grows up to 50 cm tall – perfect for small pots or bonsai training
- Drought-tolerant and long-lived
- May produce small pink-white flowers in mature plants
Care Tips:
- Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight or partial sun. More sunlight enhances red edges.
- Watering: Water deeply but infrequently. Let soil dry out completely between waterings.
- Soil: Requires a well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Avoid overwatering.
- Temperature: Thrives in warm conditions. Protect from frost and cold drafts.
- Fertilizer: Feed during spring and summer with a diluted, balanced succulent fertilizer.
- Pruning: Can be lightly pruned to shape or encourage branching.
