The Variegated Jade Plant is a stunning cultivar of the traditional Jade Plant, featuring thick, glossy leaves streaked with creamy white, light green, and sometimes pink tones along the edges when grown in bright light. Known for its resilience and symbolic meaning of prosperity and good fortune, this slow-growing succulent is perfect for indoor pots, bonsai training, or outdoor rock gardens in warmer climates.
Key Characteristics:
- Foliage: Oval-shaped, fleshy leaves with creamy-white and green variegation; pink tips may appear in bright sun.
- Growth Habit: Upright, branching succulent that can be pruned to maintain shape.
- Size: Can grow up to 1 metre tall over time when grown in a pot.
- Longevity: Long-lived and easily propagated, making it a favourite for passing down through generations.
- Flowers: Produces small, star-shaped white or pink flowers in clusters during late winter or early spring under ideal conditions.
Care Tips:
- Light: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight to full sun. Variegation is more vibrant with ample light.
- Watering: Water deeply when the soil is dry. Reduce watering in winter. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
- Soil: Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix. Adding perlite or coarse sand helps with drainage.
- Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 15–25°C. Protect from frost.
- Humidity: Low humidity preferred. Ideal for indoor environments.
- Fertilising: Feed with a diluted succulent fertiliser during the growing season (spring and summer).
- Maintenance: Prune to shape and remove any leggy growth. Easily propagated from leaf or stem cuttings.
The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 80mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
