Euphorbia meloformis is a compact, globular succulent native to South Africa, prized for its distinctive melon-like shape and ridged, segmented body. The plant is usually grey-green to blue-green in color, often marked with darker green stripes or mottling along its ribs. Its symmetrical, rounded form makes it a popular choice among collectors of rare and unusual succulents. Mature plants may produce small, yellow to green cyathia (flower-like structures) on short stalks, which emerge near the growing tip.
This species is well-adapted to dry, arid conditions and thrives with minimal care. It stores water in its thick, fleshy body, allowing it to survive prolonged periods without watering. Like many Euphorbias, it contains a white, milky sap that is toxic and can cause irritation, so care should be taken when handling.
