Euphorbia hedyotoides is a rare and unusual succulent species native to Madagascar. Unlike many other Euphorbias, this plant has a more shrubby, upright form and produces slender, woody stems that resemble a miniature tree or bonsai. It typically grows with a thickened, woody base (caudex) from which thin, dark stems emerge, sometimes branching sparingly. The small, deciduous leaves grow at the tips of the stems and may drop during dry periods or winter dormancy. Its flowers, known as cyathia, are small and yellowish-green, appearing near the tips of the branches.
