Agave Tequllana ("Blue Agave" or "Agave Tequilana Weber")

Agave tequilana (commonly known as Blue Agave) is a fast-growing, large succulent native to Mexico, best known as the plant used in the production of tequila. It forms an impressive rosette of long, narrow, blue-gray leaves that curve gracefully and end in sharp terminal spines. The plant’s architectural structure and striking color make it a bold choice for large pots or dry landscape designs.

Key Characteristics:

• Iconic blue-gray foliage with a smooth texture

• Fast-growing, reaching up to 1.5–2 meters in height and spread

• Used commercially for tequila production

• Excellent structural plant for dry gardens and containers

Care Tips:

• Light: Requires full sun to develop its best color and form. Tolerates light shade in hot climates.

• Watering: Drought-tolerant once established. Water deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

• Soil: Prefers very well-draining soil. Sandy or rocky mixes are ideal.

• Temperature: Thrives in warm climates. Not frost-tolerant; provide protection or grow in pots in cooler zones.
