Main Features:
-
Flattened, paddle-like stems with irregular, zigzag edges
-
Trailing growth habit, stems can reach 60–90 cm long
-
Small, inconspicuous white flowers in spring or early summer
-
Produces tiny, round berries that may follow flowering
-
Pet-safe and non-toxic
Care Tips:
-
Light: Bright, indirect light is best. Avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the thin stems.
-
Watering: Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Maintain a lightly moist medium during spring and summer; reduce frequency in winter.
-
Soil: Use a well-draining, airy mix (e.g., orchid bark plus cactus potting mix or a blend of peat and perlite).
-
Humidity: Prefers higher humidity. Mist occasionally or place near other plants to create a humid microclimate.
-
Temperature: Thrives between 16–24 °C. Keep above 10 °C and protect from cold drafts.
-
Fertilising: Feed monthly in the growing season with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser. Skip feeding in dormancy.
-
Propagation: Easily propagated from stem segments. Allow cuttings to callous for a day before pressing into moist substrate.
