Euphorbia Somona Bianca

Euphorbia 'Somona Bianca' is a striking and architectural succulent known for its sculptural columnar form and distinctive pale coloration. With chalky-white stems often marked by green ribs or ridges, this variety creates a dramatic presence in any collection. It’s well-suited for container growing and thrives in warm, dry conditions, making it an excellent choice for drought-tolerant gardens or minimalist indoor displays.

Key Characteristics:

• Appearance: Upright, cylindrical stems with creamy white to pale green tones and occasional ridges or tubercles.
• Color: Light silvery-white with green markings; may develop blush tones in strong sunlight.
• Size: Can grow up to 30–60 cm (1–2 feet) tall in containers, taller in the ground with time.
• Growth Habit: Solitary or clumping depending on growing conditions; forms upright columns.
• Sap: Like all Euphorbias, it produces a milky sap when cut, which is toxic and irritating to skin and eyes.

Care Tips:

• Light: Prefers bright, indirect light to full sun. Indoors, place near a sunny window.
• Water: Water sparingly. Allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot.
• Soil: Requires well-draining cactus or succulent mix. Ensure pots have drainage holes.
• Temperature: Thrives in warm conditions. Protect from frost and temperatures below 10°C (50°F).
• Propagation: Can be propagated from stem cuttings. Allow cut ends to dry and callous before planting.
