Delosperma lehmannii, commonly known as Lehmann's ice plant or trailing ice plant, is a low-growing succulent plant belonging to the Aizoaceae family. It is native to the southwestern regions of South Africa.

Growing:

  • The daisy-like flowers are small, measuring around 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter, and typically have bright, vibrant colors.

  • Stems grow up to 25 cm long and maybe needs a bit more water than other succulents especially in the warmer weather.

Key Features:

  • It prefers well-draining soil and can tolerate various soil types, including sandy or rocky soil.

  • This drought-tolerant plant is adapted to survive in low-water conditions and can store water in its leaves.

  • Its trailing habit also makes it an excellent choice for cascading over walls, rockeries, or hanging baskets, where its vibrant flowers can create an eye-catching display.

  • It likes full sun to a partly shaded position and would look good in a hanger.

  • Pale yellow flowers form in the spring.
