Crassula muscosa, commonly known as Watch Chain or Lizard's Tail, is a fascinating and unique succulent plant native to South Africa.This little beauty has a few common names which include Watch Chain, Watch Chain Plant, Princess Pine, Lizard’s Tail, Zipper Plant, Toy Cypress, Rat tail Crassula and Club moss Crassula.
Leaves:
Arrangement: Opposite, densely packed, overlapping, and closely stacked along the stems.
Shape: Cylindrical, resembling miniature pine trees.
Color: Bright green, with a subtle hint of red or bronze in response to sunlight.
It has tiny green leaves that appear to overlap each other.
Growth Habit:
Habit: Spreading and mat-forming, creating a dense carpet.
Crassula muscosa's leaves are small, elongated, and slightly pointed, usually about 0.2 to 0.4 inches (5 to 10 millimeters) long.
Cultural Requirements:
Light: Thrives in bright, indirect light; some direct sunlight enhances coloration.
Soil: Well-draining succulent or cactus mix.
It prefers bright, indirect light but can tolerate some direct sunlight.
Very easy to grow but like all crassulas do not over water. Looks great in a hanger, container or rockeries. Full sun/ part shade.
