Agave Applanata, also known as the "Flattened Agave", is a species of succulent plant that is native to Mexico. It belongs to the family Asparagaceae and the genus Agave.
Leaves/Grow:
The plant is characterised by its rosette of fleshy leaves that grow up to 60 cm long and 8-10 cm wide.
The leaves are light green in color and have a smooth surface with no marginal spines.
The edges of the leaves are serrated with small, sharp teeth.
Agave Applanata is a relatively slow-growing plant that prefers well-drained soil and full sun exposure.
Cultural Requirements:
It is drought-tolerant and can survive in a range of temperatures, from hot and dry to mild frost.
The plant produces tall flower spikes that can reach up to 5 meters in height, bearing small greenish-yellow flowers.
The Flattened Agave is often grown as an ornamental plant in rock gardens, succulent gardens, and xeriscapes due to its unique flattened leaf shape and low maintenance requirements.
