Ibervillea tenuisecta, commonly known as "Coyote Melon" or "Desert Gourd," is a unique and hardy plant native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.The leaves are deeply lobed and often have a somewhat angular or star-like shape.

The most distinctive feature of Ibervillea tenuisecta is its fruit. The fruit is a small, spherical gourd that is usually green, although it can turn yellow as it matures.This plant has several adaptations to survive in harsh desert conditions. Ibervillea tenuisecta produces small, inconspicuous flowers that are typically yellow to greenish-yellow in color. Ibervillea tenuisecta can be grown as an ornamental plant in desert gardens or xeriscapes, provided it receives plenty of sunlight and well-draining soil.
