Crassula ovata ‘Ladyfingers’, also known as Gollum Jade or Finger Jade, is a fascinating and sculptural succulent with long, tubular leaves that resemble fingers or trumpet tips. This unique form of the classic Jade Plant is prized for its quirky appearance and ease of care, making it a standout in any succulent collection.

The leaves are typically green with reddish tips, especially when grown in bright light. Over time, this variety can form a thick trunk and branching structure, much like a miniature tree.

Characteristics:

  • Slender, tubular leaves with slightly flared, reddish tips
  • Compact, shrubby growth with a tree-like shape as it matures
  • Drought-tolerant and easy to grow
  • May produce clusters of small, star-shaped pinkish-white flowers in cooler months
  • Great for bonsai, containers, or indoor displays

Care Instructions:

  • Light: Prefers bright, indirect sunlight to full sun. More light encourages red colouring on the leaf tips.
  • Watering: Allow soil to dry out between waterings. Water deeply and infrequently.
  • Soil: Requires a well-draining succulent or cactus mix.
  • Temperature: Best in temperatures between 15°C and 25°C. Protect from frost.
  • Feeding: Use a diluted, balanced fertiliser during the growing season (spring to autumn) every 4–6 weeks.
  • Maintenance: Prune to shape if desired. Repot every 2–3 years or when root-bound.

The first two photos serves a display purpose only. The succulent plant housed in the black pot comes in a 130mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
